The Rotary Club of Uttoxeter |

| July Bulletin | ||
Our club has an excellent past record of membership, fellowship and friendship and to quote Lynne our Assistant District Governor at our club assembly “not many clubs have the friendship and happy atmosphere one always experiences at Uttoxeter.” We must all pull together during this next year to try to increase our membership and to undertake the many and various projects put forward by the different committees. I am fortunate in having a strong team of committee chairmen to carry through the new and some continuing projects from last year. Let us work hard during the year to progress our club which is run by our members for the benefit of our members and not by District. I think then we shall all see the benefits. After all The District Officers are only there to help and advise when needed and should not try to dictate how the club should function. A group of members are going to District Conference in Southport in October and I thank them for their continued support. Finally I would like to thank all members for selecting me as your President , I will try to do all I can to continue the good work of the club and I wish you all a successful and enjoyable year in Rotary.

Young Innovator. This year it was the turn of the Rotary Club of Blythe Bridge to host the event. It was well supported by our Club with over a dozen members attending. However the entries from our area were less successful with Emma Gerrard in third place being our only success. It will be our turn next year to host the event and hopefully we will be able to benefit from the opening of the JCB Academy, both for its facilities and entries. |
Friday 30th July. Treasure Hunt.
Starting at 6.15 from the Maltings Car Park. At the end of the Hunt there will be Pork Baps and drinks. Entry Fee £10 per Car, Food £2.50. Entry Form from Sally Herbert. |

Rotary Walks. At the end of June over 20 Walkers, led by Joe Summers and his wife, Ruth, spent a very pleasant couple of hours walking the Osmaston Estate. The weather was perfect and the undulating landscape and wide variety of scenery was much appreciated. It was fascinating to learn of the history of the Estate, established by the founder of the Butterly Brick Company After a fairly exhausting (for some!) two hours we returned to the Shoulder of Mutton for Lunch and much needed refreshment.. The next Walk will be on Wednesday 21st and will take place around Abbots Bromley |

| Friends of Rotary This is an opportunity to develop our contacts with people who support OUR CLUB. These may be regular attenders of our social events, helpers with our activities in the Community, or people who may be interested to see just what we have done/are doing. There is absolutely no committment! All we will ask is that they allow us to send a Bulletin, like this one, from time to time |
